Mission of Urban Academy
The mission of the School is to pursue and maintain excellence in all spheres of school life, academic, sport and cultural, within the South African community.

It is the aim of the School to produce young men and women who are independent thinkers with physical and moral courage, who are articulate, well-mannered and tolerant, educated in the widest sense of the word, sensitive to the needs of others, and dedicated to the service of their fellow men and women and the community as a whole.

Parents will be notified in advance via sms of any changes in the school days. It is the parent’s responsibility to make the necessary transport arrangements for their children.

Absence during School
A student will only be allowed to leave school once the required form is completed.

In the case of a sick learner, parents will be notified telephonically to make arrangements for their child to be fetched.

Absence from School
After a period of absence, an absentee note (enclosed in an envelope) must be handed to the register teacher on the day that the learner returns to school.

A medical certificate is required for:
(a) a period of absence of three days or longer, or
(b) any period of absence during exams or controlled grade tests.

Parents are requested to read these carefully as they provide information on all forthcoming events and activities.

A complete list of stationary requirements is provided each year. Parents are requested to buy all the required items well in advance, before the start of the school year.

Our school uniform is supplied by our school.

All appointments should be made with the school secretary.
